Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR) on saksalainen yleisradioyhtiö, joka toimii Saksan pohjoisissa osavaltioissa Hampuri, Mecklenburg-Etu-Pommeri, Ala-Saksi ja Schleswig-Holstein. Se on Saksan paikallisten yleisradioyhtiöiden liiton, ARD:n, jäsen. Yhtiön päätoimipaikka sijaitsee Hampurissa Rotherbaumin kaupunginosassa. NDR työllistää noin 3600 henkilöä.

Historia

NDR:n historia alkoi 1924, kun Nordische Rundfunk AG (NORAG) perustettiin Hampurissa. NORAG joutui brittiläisen valvonnan alla osaksi vuonna 1945 perustettua radioyhtiötä Nordwestdeutscher Rundfunk (NWDR), joka kattoi brittien hallintoalueen Saksan liittotasavallassa. Myöhemmin yhtiö siirtyi osavaltioiden hallintaan ja vuonna 1955 NWDR päätettiin jakaa. Siitä syntyi kaksi paikallista yleisradioyhtiötä: läntinen Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) ja pohjoinen Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR). NDR:n perustivat Hampuri, Ala-Saksi ja Schleswig-Holstein. Mecklenburg-Etu-Pommeri liittyi yhtiöön vuonna 1992 Saksan jälleenyhdistymisen jälkeen[1].
