Laplink

Laplink (kirjoitusasuja LapLink, Lap-Link) oli Traveling Softwaren (myöhemmin Laplink Software, Inc.) alun perin vuonna 1983 julkaisema ohjelmisto, jota käytettiin tiedostojen synkronointiin, kopioimiseen tai siirtämiseen kahden PC- tai Mac-tietokoneen välillä ennen paikallisverkkojen aikakautta käyttämällä rinnakkaisporttia ja ns. LapLink-kaapelia tai sarjaporttia ja nollamodeemikaapelia, modeemia, infrapunaa, IPX-verkkoa tai myöhemmin USB:tä ja USB adhoc -verkkokaapelia. Myöhemmissä versioissa on myös etäkäyttömahdollisuus.[1][2]

Laplink Softwaren myöhempi tuote on nimeltään PCmover.

Laplink osasi hyödyntää erityistä kaapelia, jolla kaksi PC-tietokonetta voi yhdistää rinnakkaisliitäntää käyttäen. Rinnakkaisliitännässä on 25 johdinta ja 8 datajohdinta rinnakkain, joten tiedonsiirto sillä on huomattavasti nopeampaa kuin sarjaliitännällä, jossa datajohtimia on yksi.

MS-DOS 6.0 ja PC DOS 5.02 sisälsivät INTERSVR.EXE ja INTERLNK.EXE-ohjelmat, joilla samaa kaapelia voi käyttää tiedonsiirtoon. DR-DOS sisälsi filelink.exe-ohjelman.

Linux- ja FreeBSD-järjestelmissä on PLIP-protokolla (Parallel Line Internet Protocol) kaapelin käyttöön koneiden yhdistämiseksi.[3][4]
