Kauko Mäkinen (liikenneneuvos)

Kauko Ossian Mäkinen (27. syyskuuta 1918 Tyrvää – 4. toukokuuta 1990 Vammala) oli suomalainen kuljetusalan yrittäjä ja yritysjohtaja, joka sai liikenneneuvoksen arvonimen.[1]

Mäkinen kävi kansakoulun ja meni jo nuorena kuljetusliikkeen palvelukseen. Hän aloitti oman kuljetustoiminnan heti sotien jälkeen vuonna 1944 yhdellä kuorma-autolla ja palkkasi ensimmäiset työntekijät avukseen vuosikymmenen lopulla. 1950-luvulla hän siirtyi tavaraliikenteen harjoittajaksi. 1960-luvulla liiketoiminnan käytössä oli jo oma tavara-asema konttori-, huolto-, autotalli- ja sosiaalisine tiloineen. Liiketoimintansa Mäkinen yhtiöitti vuonna 1974 Kuljetusliike Kauko Mäkinen Oy:ksi. Hän oli yrityksen toimitusjohtaja ja johtokunnan puheenjohtaja. Yritys kasvoi huomattavasti ja tarjosi asiakkaille myös monia tavaroiden kuljetuksen ja varastoinnin oheispalveluja. Mäkinen osallistui myös aktiivisesti kuljetusalan järjestötoimintaan. Vuonna 1977 hänet valittiin Vammalan vuoden yrittäjäksi, liikenneneuvoksen arvonimen hän sai vuonna 1979. Mäkisen kuoltua vuonna 1990 yhtiön liiketoiminta jatkui, mutta se hakeutui yrityssaneeraukseen vuoden 2005 alussa ja meni konkurssiin saman vuoden lopussa.[1][2]
