José de Orejón y Aparicio

José de Orejón y Aparicio (12. kesäkuuta 1703 Huacho – toukokuu 1765 Lima) oli perulainen säveltäjä, urkuri ja pappi.[1]

Orejón y Aparicio aloitti musiikillisen uransa lapsena laulajana. Hän opiskeli urkujensoittoa Juan de Peraltan ja todennäköisesti kontrapunktia Tomás de Torrejón y Velascon johdolla.[1] Hän oli myös Roque Cerutin oppilas.[2] Orejón y Aparicion uskotaan aloittaneen opiskelun pappisseminaarissa noin vuonna 1724. Myöhemmin hän opiskeli Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcosista, josta valmistuneeksi hänet on merkitty noin vuonna 1754 ilman tietoa tiedekunnasta. Orejón y Aparicio sai paikan Liman tuomiokirkon ensimmäisenä urkurina vuonna 1742. Vuonna 1760 hänet valittiin Roque Cerutin kuoltua tämän tilapäiseksi korvaajaksi maestro de capillan tehtäviin; hän sai pysyvän nimityksen tähän asemaan huhtikuussa 1764. Saman vuoden syyskuussa hän saneli testamenttinsa vammauduttuaan onnettomuudessa. Hänen tarkkaa kuolinajankohtaansa ei tiedetä, mutta urkurinpaikka julistettiin vapaaksi 21. toukokuuta 1765.[1]

Vuonna 2001 Juan Carlos Estenssoro kuvasi Orejón y Apariciota merkittävimmäksi Perussa syntyneeksi kolonialistisen ajan säveltäjäksi.[1] Orejón y Aparicion tuotannon joukossa on messuja, motetteja, hymnejä ja litanioita.[3]
