Carl Johan Boy

Carl Johan Boy (16. joulukuuta 1794 Tjureda[1] – 10. elokuuta 1868 Tukholma[2]) oli suomalainen tuomari ja sanomalehden toimittaja.

Ruotsissa syntyneen Boyn vanhemmat olivat Luvialla asunut Itä-Intian komppanian kauppalaivuri Vilhelm Boy ja Anna Magdalena Grönhagen. Hän kävi Vadstenan koulua ja Porin triviaalikoulua ja pääsi ylioppilaaksi Turussa vuonna 1812. Boy opiskeli Turun akatemiassa ja valmistui filosofian kandidaatiksi ja maisteriksi vuonna 1819. Hän suoritti tuomarintutkinnon vuonna 1821.[1]

Boy työskenteli Vaasan hovioikeudessa vuosina 1822–1860. Hän sai hovioikeudenneuvoksen arvon vuonna 1855. Vuosina 1830–1866 Boy toimi myös Vaasassa sensorina.[1]

Boy kuului Vaasan ensimmäisen sanomalehden Wasa Tidningin perustajiin ja työskenteli sen toimittajana vuosina 1839–1846[3]. Perimätiedon mukaan hän oli myös Carl Gustaf Wolffin kirjapainon todellinen omistaja[4].
