محمد خواجه یکی از قبایل بزرگ هزاره‌ها است که بیشتر از ولایت غزنی در افغانستان می‌باشند.

تبار

هزاره‌های محمد خواجه از تبار ترک یا ترکی-مغولی برلاس هستند که تا قرن شانزدهم (میلادی) به زبان ترکی جغتایی، یک زبان ترکی‌تبار از شاخهٔ قرلق صحبت می‌کردند.[۱][۲]

امیر محمد خواجه

امیر محمد خواجه از قبیلهٔ برلاس بود که قبلاً در حدود جغرافیای آسیای میانه، ایران و هندوستان زندگی می‌کردند. جای آبایی این قبیله کِش، ترکستان در ازبکستان کنونی است. پدر امیر محمد خواجه، امیر حاجی سیف الدین وزیر تیمور بود[۳] که بعداً هم به‌عنوان والی قندهار گماشته شد. جد بزرگ او، حاجی بیگ برلاس، رهبری قبیلهٔ برلاس را بر عهده داشت و عبدالله قرااناس را از قدرت که در جنوب خانات جغتای حکومت می‌کرد، سرنگون نمود. عبدالله قرااناس که به تازگی قدرت را به دست گرفته بود با حرکت خود شهر کِش را به خطر انداخته بود و حکومت او توسط حاجی بیگ برلاس سرنگون شد.

امیر، خان، میرزا، بیگ، شاه، سردار، غازی و سلطان از جمله عناوینی بود که به افراد قبیلهٔ امیر محمد خواجه داده می‌شد.

امیر محمد خواجه سپهسالار قشون ظهیرالدین محمد بابر بود و اسم او در مکاتب تاریخی از جمله بابرنامه بارها ذکر گردیده است. او همچنین به‌نام «خواجه بزرگ» شناخته شده است. امیر محمد خواجه به‌عنوان سپهسالار قشون ظهیرالدین محمد بابر در تمام نبردهای وی برای تسخیر سلطنت دهلی حضور داشت.

پایان عمر

امیر محمد خواجه پس از تسخیر دهلی هیچگاه در آنجا به‌دلیل آب و هوای گرم مسکن گزین نشد. وی بقیه عمرش را در شاران که امروزه واقع در پکتیا، افغانستان است، گذراند و در همان‌جا نیز به خاک سپرده شد.
