NSV Liidu meistersportlase tunnistus

NSV Liidu meistersportlane (lühend MS; vene keeles Мастер спорта СССР, venekeelne tavalühend МС) oli NSV Liidu sportlastele antud nimetus.

Nimetus loodi 29. jaanuaril 1934[1], seda hakati andma 1935. aastal (males juba 1925) ning selle andmine lõpetati 1992. aastal.

Meistersportlaseks saamiseks tuli sportlasel täita üleliidulise ühtse spordiklassifikatsiooni järgunorm või järgunõuded[2] ning nimetuse andis NSV Liidu Riiklik Kehakultuuri- ja Spordikomitee. Meistersportlaseks nimetamisega sai sportlane rinnamärgi[2] ja tunnistuse.

Esimestel märkidel ei olnud järjekorranumbrit, neid hakati kasutama alles 1949. aastal ja siis anti märk nr 1 võimleja Albert Abramjanile. Seisuga 1. jaanuar 1975 oli meistersportlase nimetuse saanud 108 100 sportlast ja aastaks 1988 oli neid 250 000.[3]
