Järva-Jaani on alev Järva maakonnas Järva vallas.

Järva-Jaani on Järva valla halduskeskus. Aastatel 1991–2017 oli see Järva-Jaani valla halduskeskus.

Asulat läbib Tartu–Jõgeva–Aravete maantee (varasema nimega Piibe maantee). Järva-Jaani ja Kuusna küla vahel on 1798. aasta atlases Piibe maantee ääres Tamme kõrts. Järva-Jaanist hargneb tee Karinu küla suunas.

Asulas on ajaloomälestisena arvele võetud Järva-Jaani Vabadussõjas langenute matmispaik.

Alevi alal on Järva-Jaani järv.

Alevi järgi on nime saanud siluri Järva-Jaani kihid, sealne paemurd on ka nende kihtide stratotüüp.[4]

Ajalugu

Alev tekkis 19. sajandi lõpul Piibe maantee äärde Järva-Jaani kirikumõisa (1798. aasta atlases "St. Johannis"), Keika küla (Ludwig August Mellini koostatud 1798. aasta atlases Keika, varem Keitise) ja Orina mõisa (1798. aasta atlases "Orgena") maadele.

Aastal 1920 avati asulas Türi-Paide-Tamsalu raudtee Järva-Jaani raudteejaam, mis suleti aastal 1972.

Järva-Jaani Orina mõisas tegutses aastatel 1924–1947 Järva-Jaani Tütarlaste Kodumajanduskool, 1947. aastast asutati kodumajanduskooli asemel Järva-Jaani Mehhaniseerimiskool, 1954. aastast Järva-Jaani põllumajanduse mehhaniseerimiskool nr 6, mehhaniseerimiskool koolitas peamiselt noormehi traktoristideks, autojuhtideks, kombaineriteks ja mehaanikuteks. Kooli baasettevõte oli Järva-Jaani kolhoos. 1963. aastast Järva-Jaani Maakutsekool nr 31, 1972. aastast Järva-Jaani Kutsekeskkool nr 31 ja aastatel 1990–1993 Järva-Jaani põllutöökool, mis tegutses kuni 1997. aastani Paide kutsekooli filiaalina, misjärel suundusid õpilased õppima Paidesse.[5]

Järva-Jaani oli alev 1945–1987.[6] Alevi õigused taastati 2. juunil 2005.[7] Vahepeal oli tegemist alevikuga.
