Bernhard Roostfeld

Bernhard Aleksander Roostfeld (ka Roostfeldt ja Rostfeld; 5. jaanuar 1885 Jõhvi vald, Virumaa – 26. jaanuar 1948 Karaganda, Kasahstan) oli Eesti Vabariigi riigi-, valitsus- ja majandustegelane.

Roostfeldi isa on pärit Vigala kihelkonnast, kuid oli läinud Virumaale mõisavalitsejaks. Ta õppis aastatel 1895–1903 Narva gümnaasiumis. Pärast gümnaasiumi lõpetamist õppis ta aastatel 1903–1908 Peterburi ülikooli füüsika-matemaatika teaduskonnas. Pärast ülikooli lõpetamist õppis ta aastatel 1908–1910 Moskva Põllumajanduse Akadeemias. Pärast seda töötas ta aastani 1917 Peterburi maakonna semstvo agronoomina, olles ühtlasi Peterburi Põllumeeste Seltsi juhatuse liige. Aastatel 1917–1920 oli ta Peterburi Kooperatiivide Keskühisuse juhatuse liige.[1] Ta pöördus aastal 1920 tagasi kodumaale ning oli ETK põllumajandustarvete osakonna juhataja.

Roostfeld oli põllutööminister Konstantin Pätsi esimeses valitsuses (25. jaanuarist 1921 – 21. novembrini 1922), olles veel 26. jaanuarist 1921 toitlusministri ja 23. novembrist 16. detsembrini 1921 teedeministri kohusetäitja. Põllutööminister oli ta ka järgnevas, Juhan Kuke valitsuses (21. novembrist 1922 – 2. augustini 1923). Konstantin Pätsi teises valitsuses (2. augustist 1923 – 26. märtsini 1924) oli ta kaubandus- ja tööstusminister.[2][3]

Roostfeld oli aastatel 1924–1928 ETK ja aastatel 1928–1938 Pikalaenu Panga direktor. Aastatel 1936–1939 oli ta kirjastusosaühingu Postimees juhatuse esimees.

Roostfeld oli 7. aprillist 1938 – 5. juulini 1940 oli ta Riiginõukogu liige.[4]

Isiklikku

Tema abikaasa Alma Roostfeld oli lastearst, tütar Inna oli masinaehitusinsener ja esimene Eestis litsentsi saanud naislendur. Tema vend Roman Roostfeld oli Esimese maailmasõja kangelane, Georgi mõõgaga autasustatu.
