Aivar Põldvee

Aivar Põldvee (sündinud 5. veebruaril 1962 Paldiskis) on eesti ajaloolane, alates 2010. aastast ajaloodoktor ja Tallinna Ülikooli teadur.

Aivar Põldvee omandas põhi- ja keskhariduse Keila 1. Keskkoolis ja asus 1980. aastal õppima Tartu Riiklikku Ülikooli ajalugu. Ta lõpetas selle 1985. aastal ning töötas aastatel 1984–1989 Keila 1. Keskkoolis ajaloo- ja ühiskonnaõpetuse õpetajana. Sellele järgnes kolmeaastane aspirantuur Eesti Teaduste Akadeemia Ajaloo Instituudis. 1993–1997 oli ta sealsamas nooremteadur. Aastatel 1989–2001 oli ta ka Harjumaa Muuseumi vanemteadur ning 1994–1995 direktori ajutine kohusetäitja. 1998–2001 oli Aivar Põldvee ka Keila Gümnaasiumi vanemõpetaja.

2001. aastal sai Põldveest Eesti Ajaloomuuseumi teadusdirektor, kellena ta töötas viis aastat. 2003. aastal alustas ta Tartu Ülikoolis magistriõpinguid ja sai aasta hiljem magistrikraadi. Seejärel astus ta samas doktoriõppesse. 23. septembril 2010 kaitses ta doktoriväitekirja teemal "Bengt Gottfried Forselius ja rahvahariduse lätted Eesti- ja Liivimaal". Töö juhendaja oli Mati Laur, oponent oli Kari Tarkiainen.

Aivar Põldvee tütar on laulja Anna Pärnoja.
