La Ruĝa arbalciono (Halcyon coromanda) estas mezgranda arbalciono, tio estas birdo de la familio de Halcionedoj kaj superfamilio de Alcededoj, kiu enhavas ankaŭ alcionon, aliajn arbalcionojn kaj kukabaraojn.

Tiu ĉi specio estas amplekse disvastigita en orienta kaj sudorienta Azio, el Sudkoreio kaj Japanio norde, suden tra Filipinoj al insuloj Sundaj, kaj okcidenten al Ĉinio kaj Barato. Ĝi estas migranta, ĉar la birdoj de la norda parto de la teritorio migras tiom suden kiom ĝis Borneo dum vintro. Loke komuna en sudaj partoj de la teritorio, la Ruĝa arbalciono estas rara en Japanio, kie ĝi estas tre serĉata kaj dezirata de birdumantoj. La Ruĝa arbalciono loĝas arbarojn el mezvarmaj al tropikaj zonoj, ofte en maldensaj jangaloj kaj pluvarbaroj.

Tiu specio estas proksimume 25cm longa. La Ruĝa arbalciono havas tre grandan, brilruĝan bekon kaj same ruĝajn krurojn. La korpo estas iome malhele ruĝa, ĝenerale kun nuancoj al purpura en vosto; la pugo estas helblua. Estas iome da seksa dimorfismo, kvankam kelkaj fakuloj asertas, ke maskloj estas iom pli brilaj en plumaro.

Kiel aliaj alcionoj, la Ruĝa arbalciono ĝenerale manĝas fiŝojn, krustulojn kaj grandajn insektojn, kvankam en areoj kun malpli da fluanta akvo, oni scias, ke ili predas ankaŭ ranojn kaj aliajn amfibiojn. Pro ties prefero por densaj arbaroj, tiu arbalciono estas pli aŭdata ol vidata. Tiuj birdoj ĝenerale moviĝas sole aŭ en paroj.

La dua parto de la dunoma specifa nomo rememoras la Koromandelan Marbordon de Barato.
