Welcome to the meetup page for Chicago! If you are interested in Wikipedia or other Wikimedia projects, regardless of your level of experience or involvement, you are invited and welcome. Meetups are bimonthly (every two months), so keep an eye out for upcoming events!
To receive notifications about future meetups, add your username with the ~~~~ abbreviation here: WP:Meetup/Chicago/Invite list. This list is used to send mass message invitations for meetups, edit-a-thons, or other notices.
Current meetup planning in Chicago is being conducted through Wikimedians of Chicago User Group, Art+Feminism, and Black Lunch Table.

Upcoming meetups
No upcoming meetups are currently planned, but look out for something big this fall!
Activity
2026 meetings include the 2026 Wikipedia Day celebration, commemorating Wikipedia's 25th anniversary. We also hosted a Women's History Month edit-a-thon in collaboration with local bookstore Skunk Cabbage Books, as well as a casual meetup at Bridgeport's Jackalope Coffee and Tea.
