Speedy deletion nomination of Sultan Nur Ahmed Aman " Nuur Dheere" (1841-1907)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sultan Nur Ahmed Aman " Nuur Dheere" (1841-1907) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://archive.org/stream/HistoryOfSultanNurAhmedAman1837-1905AndTheSomaliDervish/Suldaan_Nuur_Axmed_Amaan_asaasayaashii_Daraawiishta_1838_djvu.txt. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. reddogsix (talk) 23:23, 10 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

I have contested the delete of this article. I Am the author of the original text from archive.org .

Nevertheless my Wikipedia version of Sultan Nur Ahmed Aman was deleted. Also my original work uploaded in archive.org is an open source.

The article in archive.org is uploaded in 2011 using my email which is the same as my Wikipedia email.

I request the article to be undeleted I have spent 2 months creating it and it be a waste if its permanently deleted. XKeyse (talk) 04:17, 11 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Haji Sudi. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 19:19, 4 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Information icon Hello, I'm Gurkubondinn. An edit that you recently made to Kob Fardod seemed to be generated using a large language model (an "AI chatbot" or other application using such technology). Text produced by these applications is not allowed on Wikipedia, and may contain factually inaccurate statements, fictitious citations, or other problems. You should instead read reliable sources and then summarize those in your own words. Your edit may have been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. If you think a mistake was made, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or ask your questions at the Teahouse, a friendly place for new users. @Gurkubondinn , wi should be using reliable sources? are you mean to tell me you have a better sources then the one i cited ? if your "reliable source" places Kob Fardod anywhere else on earth by all means offer it. if not , then the article stays and using machine language pretext to remove the main article while 2 stubs are not bothered by you i take that as argumentative. — Preceding unsigned comment added by XKeyse (talkcontribs)
Why are you talking about reliable sources, XKeyse? The problem is that you are using an AI to generate the text you are pasting into Wikipedia. --gurkubondinn 14:02, 31 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Kob Fardod moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Kob Fardod. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing as a live article at this time because it consists of machine-generated text. I have converted it to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit the draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. --gurkubondinn 13:22, 31 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

Introduction to contentious topics

You have recently edited a page related to the Horn of Africa (defined as including Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Djibouti, and adjoining areas if involved in related disputes), a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

--gurkubondinn 14:46, 31 May 2026 (UTC)Reply

@Gurkubondinn The contentious topics notice is noted. I will continue to edit in accordance with Wikipedia policy. The article's geographic claims are sourced to the Burgett Gazetteer of Somalia (US Board on Geographic Names, 1982), the Sadler dispatch IOR/L/PS/20 (British Library, 1899), and Swayne's 1891 reconnaissance survey. These are among the highest reliability sources Wikipedia accepts. I have made no claims that are not directly supported by these sources. The AfD discussion is the appropriate venue for any substantive content dispute. XKeyse (talk) 15:56, 31 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
Sure, the contentious topics notice does not imply that you have some anything wrong. It is a notice to make you formally aware that topics related to the Horn of Africa are designated a a contentious topic here on English Wikipedia.
The AfD nomination has nothing to do with sourcing, it is because you used an AI to re-generate a new copy of the article. If you had instead worked on the first version in draft space and improved it (written it in your own words), there would not have been an AfD. But since you chose to WP:DRAFTOBJECT and re-generate a new version in mainspace, it has to be dealt with at AfD now. --gurkubondinn 16:12, 31 May 2026 (UTC)Reply
