Hi there, re: this, your cast reordering justified as "more senior" in your edit summary is not constructive. We don't go by subjective opinions about seniority
Hi there, re: this, your cast reordering justified as "more senior" in your edit summary is not constructive. We don't go by subjective opinions about seniority within the Indian film industry. Please don't make arbitrary changes like this. See also WP:FILMCAST instructions. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:02, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
This is regarding an edit you had made on the Konkani Muslims page. We have been speaking, reading and writing Urdu since generations so as to communicate with other Indian Muslim communities (who had settled in Mumbai in the 19th century) and to overcome centuries of relative geographic isolation (the Western Ghats provided isolation from Deccan cultural influence). There is research available online regarding this. Moreover, the register of Hindustani language (or Hindi-Urdu) spoken today in urban Konkani Muslims' homes is largely Urdu instead of Hindi, mainly due to contact with North-Indian Muslim communities. In light of this, I request you to please explain your claim "Konkanis don't speak urdu". Thank you. Hi there, re: this edit, while I don't disagree at your removal of a budget value that's labeled with a little skepticism, we don't typically wait for confirmation by filmmakers as you said in your edit summary, as filmmakers are primary sources, and are inherently untrustworthy. For instance, producers of Kabali released exaggerated gross figures in an effort to drum up more patronage, because who doesn't want to be riding the juggernaut as it crushes through town? Producers might downplay the budget to make the spread between budget and gross seem more profitable, etc. Occasionally we might care what a producer says, I think the producers of Dangal at one point might've downplayed media hype that the film crossed ₹2000 crore, which is uniquely non-self-promotional. So, tl;dr, we care what independent sources arrive at. We don't regurgitate what producers say. Thanks and regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 15:53, 24 October 2017 (UTC)
Hi again, re: [1], though you obviously meant well, the Wikipedia community prefers that we not add Indic script to the lead per WP:NOINDICSCRIPT and that we not even include Indic script in infoboxes per consensus established at Wikipedia talk:Noticeboard for India-related topics/Archive 64#RfC on Indicscript in infoboxes. I personally think it's shortsighted to prohibit Indic scripts from the infobox, because sometimes it's helpful to search for references based on the native name, but the community has already decided...
