Perhaps I phrased it wrong. I meant to say that generally for reader’s convenience, if a record low or record high stat is achieved in a tropical cyclone we have used the suffix parameter to note that below. There’s nothing wrong with the footnote, but for reader’s purposes when they first view the page we have kept that as it has been so it’s easy for them to see. Also I would highly suggest undoing the most recent edit on Template:Infobox weather event with regards to the Met history part, as the “as [name]” part (which I assume you intended for use in articles on two related TCs), ends up messing up individual tornado infoboxes in outbreak articles as the name parameter used to state the locations the tornado went through, ends up writing out the entire thing as a result. Something in your edit to this template today has caused ParserFunction errors in a number of articles that use Template:Infobox Hurricane Small (which redirects to it)—specifically, when the number in the |Pressure= parameter is preceded by a "less than" symbol. That seems to work, but now there's another problem. The infoboxes aren't displaying the field name Pressure before the numbers; instead, they're displaying {{{Pressure}}} and no numbers at all. Well, the relevant pages have been cleared from Category:ParserFunction errors, so I guess the ParserFunction problem has beeen addressed; but the field name Pressure no longer exists. Look at the infoboxes in 1901 Atlantic hurricane season, for instance; the pressure information appears as part of the Peak intensity field, separated from the wind speed by a semicolon. Actually I just tested the show preview thing on an older revision of the template and the pressures always been separated by a semi-colon, so it’s actually correct for once I think. There are certain cases in which WP:IAR is invoked, primarily if the death toll is in the double digits (Somerset-London), or exceptional intensity (even months afterward for a rural tornado - see Enderlin).
