User talk:Def choad

Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. However, I noticed that your username (Def choad) may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because contains the string "choad", a slang term of some currency for male genitalia. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. Daniel Case (talk) 14:46, 15 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Let me just preface this by saying I'm not passionate about the issue and will change my username if I must. As for the meaning of choad, I'm familiar with that particular definition but there are also others, I've heard it used to describe an ill-mannered person. I think it's also the name of one of marvel comics' (super lame) starjammers; however that name might actually be chaod. But language - slang even more so - is not set in stone, and choad to me is the name of a godzilla-like lizard creature. Besides all that, I'd hate to think a screenname that is acceptable to the AOL instant messanger censors is deemed too offensive for the free and open (I say that with no sarcasm whatsoever) Wikipedia. But again, if I must change it I will, please let me know what I should do.

Well, if you think you can defend it, we can start a request for comment and let the community reach a consensus. If you'd like to change it, go here. Daniel Case (talk) 22:32, 4 July 2011 (UTC)Reply
