However, for most new users, having one's first article creation deleted feels like a slap in the face. I make sure they get a template:first article welcome to explain expectations for new article creation. Believe me when I tell you the welcome takes some of the sting out of the slap. I also notify them that their work has been tagged for speedy deletion in an effort to give them an opportunity to make improvements, and to give them the opportunity to contest the tagging. Please consider doing these things as well. Best. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 09:44, 21 August 2025 (UTC)
Hi, please stop adding stub templates everywhere, especially for articles that are not tagged stub-class but are tagged start-class or above. I see you want to help, but competence is required. Cavarrone 09:08, 27 August 2025 (UTC)
"Users nominating a page for speedy deletion should specify which criterion/criteria the page meets, and should notify the page creator and any major contributors." Best practice would be to also give them a {{{FIRSTARTICLE}}} welcome. Thanks. -- Deepfriedokra (talk) 19:25, 27 August 2025 (UTC)

Hello! Voting in the 2025 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 1 December 2025. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2025 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 18 November 2025 (UTC)
