The article Victoria Law you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:Victoria Law for things which need to be addressed. Hi, I'm Vexations. A21sauce, thanks for creating Yasue Maetake!
I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I have indicated which claims need to be supported by references or better sources
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Wikidata, the newest project of the Wikimedia movement, went live on October 29, 2012. Please join Wikimedia New York City as we celebrate its sixth birthday at the Ace Hotel. There will be (optional) lightning talks, casual conversation, and, most importantly, CAKE!
No experience with Wikidata? No problem. This event is open to all.
Hello, A21sauce. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 2 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Washington Crossing the Delaware into Washington Crossing the Delaware (1851 painting). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa🍁 (talk) 15:09, 22 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2018-12-22T15:09:00.000Z","author":"Diannaa","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Diannaa-2018-12-22T15:09:00.000Z-Copying_within_Wikipedia_requires_attribution","replies":[]}}-->

You are invited to join the Wikimedia NYC community for our monthly "WikiWednesday" evening salon (7-9pm) and knowledge-sharing workshop at Metropolitan New York Library Council in Midtown Manhattan. Is there a project you'd like to share? A question you'd like answered? A Wiki* skill you'd like to learn? Let us know by adding it to the agenda.
We will also follow up on plans for recent and upcoming edit-a-thons, museum and library projects, education initiatives, and other outreach activities.

Translat-a-thon NYC 2019 @ LaGuardia Community College is hosting the second annual Wikipedia Translatathon! At this event on Thursday evening and during the day Friday this week, anyone from the public is invited to LaGuardia to join students, professors, and CUNY faculty in translating Wikipedia articles among any languages which attendees understand. Themes for this event include public health and the history of New York City.
New York City has a large immigrant population and great diversity of speakers of various languages. Among all schools in New York City, LaGuardia has the highest percentage of immigrant students, the highest percentage of students who speak a language other than English as their first language, and the greatest representation of language diversity. It is a strength of LaGuardia that it can present "Wikipedia translatathons", which are Wikipedia translation events.

Please do not link random English words, as you did in Aquaman (film). This is known as overlinking, and it makes figuring out which links are actually useful rather difficult. Hi A21sauce; you asked for some guidance to help improve your copy-editing. Thank your for showing a willingness to do this; it shows you care about the quality of your edits. Firstly, I recommend reading some of the advice linked from the page here; the Guild's how-to page is a good place to start.
When you asked about reviewing other editors' work, I didn't recognise your user name so I checked some of your work during the Guild's April Copy-editing Blitz; amongst these:
Although you made some good edits at Aquaman; your edits were reverted because they introduced far too many wikilinks into the article. We don't normally link common terms; most readers will understand words like 'critics', 'visual effects', 'pirates' and 'lava'; see MOS:LINK. Here is the reversion.
You also changed
The film was being developed on dual tracks, meaning that one script was being written by Beall and one by Johnstad, but only the better version would move forward.
to:
On dual tracks, this meant that one script was being written by Beall and one by Johnstad, but only the better version would move forward.
They believed that there was a strong link between power structure and dominance within pornography. It wasn't until the 1990s and 2000s that women started to really become pro-sex and embrace sexuality.
to
It is because believed that there was a strong link between power structures and male dominance in pornography. It wasn't until the 1990s and 2000s that pro-sex women who embraced sexuality became more predominant..
This is a poor edit in two ways:
It is because believed that... makes no sense, and It wasn't until the 1990s and 2000s that women started to really become pro-sex and embrace sexuality. doesn't mean the same thing as It wasn't until the 1990s and 2000s that pro-sex women who embraced sexuality became more predominant.
You also could have changed "wasn't" to "was not", per WP:MOS.
In Villain, you wikilinked common words like 'motivation', 'catalyst', 'instinct' and 'English actor'. You also introduced a couple of typos ('readers of viewers' and 'Other have pointed out'), and missed several chances to improve the text.
You've also made lots of helpful changes to the articles, and the point of Blitzes is to improve articles, not to make them 'perfect'. I think you need to slow down and take your time to read and understand what the article is telling you before making changes. Check references if you're not sure what the text means (I do this quite often and it's often enlightening!); if you're working on a page from the Requests page, it's often helpful to ask the requester what the text means.
My concern about reviewing was that if you hadn't realised you made the above mistakes, you wouldn't have spotted them in copy-edits you were reviewing. I see you've been around WP for over ten years and I hope you don't think I'm pulling you down; nobody is perfect—I still make silly typos for time to time. Please continue copy-editing at the Guild; there are plenty of experienced editors who will be happy to give advice and help you out. Once you've worked on a few drives and blitzes, you'll feel more confident and if you still want to do some reviewing, please ask again; reviewers are always in short supply!

Please note that I have declined your filing at WP:3O. As stated on that page, for a third opinion to be offered there must be a discussion at the article's Talk page. You are welcome to re-file after a thorough discussion has occurred if a third opinion is still needed. Alternately, please consider other forms of dispute resolution. Cheers. Aoba47 is an experienced editor, and you are new to copyediting. This was uncalled-for; we put the same amount of effort into a copyedit, whether or not it's part of a drive or blitz. I agree with Miniapolis. In this edit, for example, duplicate links were added, which contradicts the MOS:DUPLINK guideline. In this edit, citations supporting specific claims in a BLP were removed; it is a common practice in BLPs to source individual statements immediately after each statement, which helps with maintenance if information is added, removed, or reorganized. I recommend that you read the guideline linked above; it has some subtlety to it, so it is worth returning to periodically. Also please read MOS:OVERLINK; your edits linked common English words like "volunteer" and "divorce" used in their normal contexts, which is contrary to that guideline.
I also recommend reading the second sentence at WP:PERSONAL: "Comment on content, not on the contributor." Addressing a fellow editor as "dude" may be interpreted as disrespectful communication, especially if that editor is female. Maybe "dude" is an acceptable form of address toward people of all genders in your local culture, but Wikipedia is a global community, where words may be interpreted differently by people who come from cultures that are different from yours. I have found that it is best to adopt a neutral, albeit sometimes boring, tone when commenting on editors' contributions, and to avoid addressing other editors in the second person (i.e. "you", "dude", "sir", etc.) when making comments that are critical of that editor's contributions.
To be clear, I have made all of the mistakes that you have made in the edits above and in your recent conflict with multiple editors. We all started somewhere. The key things, in my view, are to learn, and grow, and become a positive contributor to the Wikipedia community. We are here to support you if you are willing to do those things. Hello A21sauce,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username DannyS712 and it's nice to meet you :-)
I wanted to let you know that I have tagged an article that you started, Arthur Schwartz (disambiguation) for deletion, because it is unnecessary and disambiguates only a single page.
If you feel that the page shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|DannyS712}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hello A21sauce,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Mood Ring (bar) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hello A21sauce,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Akiko Ichikawa (fashion consultant) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

You might like to note that such discussions usually run for seven days and are not ballot-polls. And, our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Crystallizedcarbon}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Completely valid criticism: I feel like I've been spending my time batting away the skeptics of the second page, the Japanese woman. I feel like those editors would also use similar arguments about these other women because there's even less documentation about them but they *are* university-level scholars! I'm dealing with the COVID19 pandemic at the moment in my city, but I'll try to iron this out soon.
