Hi! I'm the1000things. I've been using Wikipedia for years, checking it daily on my phone and computer to read about things I'm curious about all the time. I have a deep love and respect for Wikipedia and its dedicated editors, and I consider it to be one of the most amazing achievements of the 21st century. I mostly edit for grammar, wording, etc. errors -- I firmly believe that the presentation of the information on Wikipedia is just as important as its actual presence and citation. In my opinion, even things like minor spelling errors significantly subtract from the overall quality and confidence one can have in an article.

I'm very interested in language and linguistics. I have been studying for Mandarin for a few years years, starting my sophomore year in high school. I also study Ancient Greek and dabble in languages such as (Egyptian) Arabic, Korean, and Spanish. A lot of my time on Wikipedia is spent reading about different languages and language families, and that's probably where a lot of my edits will fall. I also take interest in US and EU politics, world history, and contemporary East Asian politics. I am politically Libertarian, and a more conservative Protestant.
