On Wikipedia, my username is Slackintosh (/ˈslækɪnˌtɒʃ/ SLAK-in-tosh). I am a user who lives in California, United States. I mainly focus on Apple technology and read Apple-related articles. Sometimes, I also read random information to memorize some facts.

When editing, I usually edit grammar and formatting errors, and fix typos. Sometimes I update information and add references.

The name "Slackintosh" is a portmanteau of "slack" and "Macintosh". Slackintosh is already a port made by the Linux distribution Slackware for the New World ROM on PowerPC-based Macintosh models – but that's not why I chose this name. The actual reason why is because of my enjoyment of laziness doing random things the time I created my account. Also, I enjoy Mac products.

I discovered Wikipedia around 2021 or 2022. At that time, I used a fifth-generation iPad mini^[a] mainly reading random articles using the mobile website. I've also used other people's phones and computers (not tablets) to go on Wikipedia.

I've joined Wikipedia on 7 August 2023, when I edited a few articles related to Apple using the desktop website on a 2017 MacBook Air, a device I don't own. Some edits I made were stupid, since I didn't know much about Wikipedia except the fact it is the free encyclopedia. I've also edited articles based on suggestions given. I became an auto-confirmed user on 11 August 2023.

After one month, I focused on reading more than editing; this led to the number of my contributions being slowed down – and even stop for a few months. For example, according to my contributions, after April 2024 I did not edit Wikipedia again until September 2024. I also once edited as an IP because I did not notice my user being logged out.

In January 2026, my edits started to accelerate. After months of learning about the Manual of Style and deeper understanding of Wikipedia, the number of edits began to skyrocket in June 2026. This led to more accurate improvements to grammar, formatting, and typos. I also update some outdated or incomplete information, as well as adding a few references. After my 500th edit, I became an extended-confirmed user on 12 June 2026.

On 23 July 2026, I became a temporary account IP viewer (TAIV).

I start to test edits with Twinkle on 7 August 2026, to help prevent disruptive editing. On 10 August, I started to patrol "Recent changes" to find vandalism and other disruptive editing so I can revert it with Twinkle.

Since December 2023, I use a 2022 13-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip (though it wasn't until January 2024 when I made my first edit since I got that model). My computer has 256 GB^[b] of storage and 8 GB of RAM, and is running macOS Tahoe.

Before December 2023, I contributed using a computer that I actually did not own, the 2017 MacBook Air.

I've owned and used other devices. I own an iPhone 16 Plus since December 2024. I've also used someone else's 27-inch iMac from 2019. Through September 2022, I used a fifth-generation iPad mini. From October 2022 to December 2025, I used a ninth-generation iPad.

I've also used even older devices before that time, usually tablets. Very early examples include a Hewlett-Packard tablet running Android (I'm not sure what model it is exactly, but it could be an HP Slate 7), and Apple's iPad mini 2 running iOS. None of them, along with any iMac, iPad, and iPhone, are used to edit or log in to Wikipedia.

I am planning on getting a new device in the future, even when Apple's prices for iPads and Macs went up by a lot on June 25, 2026. My next computer will still be a MacBook Air, but the minimum storage and RAM I want are 512 GB and 16 GB respectively. I will be doing so in 2027 or 2028.
