I am Paul D. Maley contributing to a page called Eclipse chasing with which I have a connection. I have created two valid references that on this page show that I have observed more solar eclipses of all types than anyone alive or dead as follows:

As of 2026 the person who has seen the most number of solar eclipses of all types (partial, annular and total combined) is Paul D. Maley of Carefree, Arizona who has seen 89.[8] A running database which is updated after every solar eclipse tracks those eclipse chasers who have entered their solar eclipse chasing history[9]

The references used are [8] which is my personal web page; and [9] which is the only international data base showing over 1,200 eclipse chasers from all over the world who enter their observations of each solar eclipse and the details associated with that. This reference is currently (as of 2026) the only such repository of individual exploits of eclipse chasers that was developed in 2021 by Bill Kramer. I do not manage or have any personal connection to this data base with the exception of entering my own individual eclipse exploits immediately after they occur.

Prior to adding these references that page suggested that others have observed more solar eclipses than anyone else but, in fact, those names listed have observed specifically more TOTAL solar eclipses than I which is a subset of the three types of solar eclipses that occur (partial, annular and total). Since the Guinness Book of World Records only lists a singular record for those who have observed more total solar eclipses than anyone, I wanted to clearly delineate the two different record types.
