- an afterthought - if you have time, go to the Votes and Proceedings of Parliament series (most complete set is at Battye on 3rd floor, Reid Library 3rd floor at UWA also has up to about 1985) and look at each of the (prose) Education Department reports for each year, which give you some picture of the development and numbers attending. The "Schools and Staffing" series (at Battye, on stack only) gives a time-and-place indication of what colleges were open at what times (but without opening/closing dates).
