Opcom has worked in hands-on and technical marketing roles with the electronics aspects of science and technology for over 40 years.

He has two patents, one in image display technology (6,313,878) and one in MEMS technology (7,495,199).

He is also the individual who made the original push for the OpenVMS Hobbyist Program. Thanks to many wonderful and far-sighted people from Digital, Compaq, H/P, and their Partners, the Program has been wildly successful since its inception.

His most significant website, bunkerofdoom.com, is devoted primarily to classical electronics hardware interests and contains approximately 40GB of public content on an OpenVMS workstation licensed under the Hobbyist Program.
