Nippylegs is the colloquial name given to the act of flattering another person thereby creating a complicity and willingness to carry out the flatterer's wishes; specifically a small errand. As in "Dom, you've got nippy legs, go and put the kettle on will you." This technique is, of course, widely used by many people but this term for the phenomena was originally coined by Derek Taylor in the 1940's and used on his younger brother during the dark days of the Second World War and then later used on all of his children. The essential element of the technique is that regardless of whether the person being mildly flattered is aware of the process, the experience is gratifying enough that willingness is unavoidable.
