Early Life
Matt Peters was born in 1983 in West Germany, his father, Tom Peters, was in the Army and stationed in West Germany. He lived in Germany for only a short period of time and his family moved back to the United States when he was 1 year old. Matt has one brother, Dan Peters, he was born 1980 in Kentucky. Matt and his family settled down in a small town LeRoy New York but at the age of 5 his parents filed for divorce.
Matt attended school in LeRoy until the middle of 3rd grade when his mother, Bernadette Peters, was offered a job in the nearby city of Rochester. They moved to Rochester and Matt attended a series of schools until finding the right one in 6th grade, New Covenent Christian School.
At the end of 9th grade Matt and his family agreed to continue his education by home schooling. During the next few years Matt worked at home towards his eventual G.E.D. exam and in 2001 he passed the exam and enrolled at Monroe Community College. After gaining his Associates Degree in Advertising Matt began to search for work and was surprised not to find anyone hiring. Working small jobs and low level internships he tried to make his way up the ladder. In the Summer of 2007 Matt met Gia Neddermeyer and a few short months later in November they were married.
Matt and Gia worked at Mary Cariola Children's Center until 2009 at which time Matt applied to RIT to finish his degree and was accepted. Gia continues to work out of the home and build her Crested Gecko business slowly.
Matt is in his 4th year at RIT expected graduation date of May 2011. He is working as an intern at ImageXpres working on FreePrintze.com as a copywriter.
Blog and The Peters Challenge In September of 2010 Matt Peters began a Blog at MrMattPeters.com. The Peters Challenge was born of his wife, Gia's, love of making Matt eat weird and gross foods when they are out at restaurants. The premise is that a reader is allowed to select 4 items of their choosing and Matt will blend them together and record the results. The blog and Peters Challenge is enjoying early success with 100s visiting the blog daily and growing everyday.
