"In Which Brent Wilts Arrives and Things Take a Turn for the Worse" is the fourth episode of the IFC and More4 television series The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.

Plot Summery

Todd(David Cross) is greeted by Pam(Sara Pascoe) as he leaves his apartment, where she informs him that since she’s not due to give birth soon, they’re free to “shag”. Todd then heads to Alice’s(Sharon Horgan) café, where he apologizes for his destructive behavior the previous night and promises to pay for anything he broke, including Alice’s drapes. Todd asks Alice if he can shoot the commercial for Thunder Muscle in her café, to which she agrees. Hudson then emerges from the back and, finding out that Todd plans to direct the commercial. Todd repays his offer by insulting his height.

Heading to his office, Todd finds all of the Thunder Muscle gone, along with Dave. Todd calls the police, and reports the theft of thirty-two cases of “an awesome new energy drink that tastes great”. Unable to give the officer any real information to go on, the police seem unconcerned with Todd’s plight. Brent Wilts(Will Arnett) then calls and tells Todd he wants to swing by. Todd suggests he visit Wilts at his hotel instead.

Meanwhile, Wilts manages to sexually harass several women, and upon being rejected hurls profanity at one. When Todd shows up at the hotel, the manager is addressing Wilts’ behavior. After, Wilts questions Todd about his sexual conquests in London, with Todd responding that although he is interested in Alice he hasn’t made any moves on her. Todd then tells Wilts that all of the Thunder Muscle is gone, which Wilts takes to mean it had been sold. Todd neglects to correct him, and the two of the run into Doug Whitney(Spike Jonez), who had been investigating Wilts and had followed him to London. Wilts then proceeds not only to fire him again, but to threaten him as well. Todd and Wilts then head to the set of the commercial.

At Alice’s café, Wilts manages to immediately insult Alice, who takes offense and slaps him. Wilts apologizes and lets it slip that Todd is interested in Alice. She seems to find this amusing, and takes delight in teasing Todd about liking her. Meanwhile, they start shooting the commercial, which is marred with a number of problems. Todd’s direction is horrible, Steve Davis can’t act and he hates the taste of Thunder Muscle. Ultimately, it is Todd’s continued mispronunciation of the word “snooker” that results in Steve Davis beating him with a snooker cue before storming off of the set. Wilts then receives an anxious phone call from someone named Malford, and leaves the café after stealing Todd’s wallet.

After coming to, Todd then heads back to his office where Dave is waiting. Todd confronts and accuses Dave of theft. Dave protests, and tells Todd that he sold all of the Thunder Muscle to the Turks from Ahmet and Sons. Todd is skeptical, and insists that he go to pick up the money for the drinks.

Upon arriving, Todd is greeted by Ahmet, who seems uneager to pay Todd. Although Todd wants a check, at Ahmet’s insistence and by Mehtap’s seduction Todd agrees to take a briefcase full of cash instead. After hailing a cab, the scene cuts to Brent Wilts, who is desperately counting Todd’s cash and his own pocket change, finally figuring that he only needs another £72,000 to pay his gambling debts. Meanwhile, Todd tries to pay for his cab ride, but is informed that his money is counterfeit. Heading back to Ahmet and Sons he sees the storefront is empty and the Turks are gone.

The scene cuts back to Wilts losing more money playing online poker, and switches back to Todd. Having no money, he is forced to give the cab driver his suit, and has to walk back to his apartment in his underwear in the rain.

Back in Todd’s Portland, OR apartment the animals that invaded are dead and a worker in a Hazmat suit is surveying the scene.
