Matthew Hutton drifted into journalism quite by accident while working for the the Gateshead Youth Organization as editor on their monthly newsletter called ‘Words to that Effect’. He was asked to take part in a sponsored walk for a local charity event, but managed to sweet-talk the organizers into changing the 10-mile hike into a sponsored Sleep-in at a local Castle, which was reputed to be haunted.
During this event at Hylton Castle Matthew, along with a group of students and charity workers, claimed to hear mysterious sounds during the course of the night. Matthew later wrote about the event, and the article was published in over a dozen magazines and newspapers across the UK and USA. He was later asked to hold similar ghost-observing vigils at various locations including such places as Tynemouth castle and Priory, Prudhoe Castle and Redworth Hall Hotel in Bishop Aukland. Matthew wrote about many of his experiences for a number of publications including; Sunderland and Washington Times (UK), The Gateshead Post (UK), Psychic World (UK), FATE Magazine (USA), Prediction Magazine (UK), Two Worlds (UK), Here & There (UK) along with many other journals and newspapers. Matthew also gave a series of talks on radio both in the UK and USA, about his theories and observations. The Electro-Magnetic Theory
While studying on a Media System Science degree course at Sunderland University, Matthew hit upon the idea that what he had observed during his investigations at haunted properties, was not the dead returning from the grave – but a more natural phenomena. He developed an idea that images and sound could be absorbed into an environment where natural rock was present. Under the right circumstances these images and sound could be replayed at a later date. This idea he called The Electro-Magnetic Ghost. Matthew is now attached to the Psychic World Publishing and The CON-PSY Publishing group, and has edited countless books for publication, and written Introductions and Notes for books such as FURTHER WORDS OF WISDOM and THROUGH THESE EYES along with many others.
Matthew has been the resident book reviewer for Psychic World since January 1995, and has reviewed thousands of books on the paranormal, occult, Spiritualism, Wicca, Witchcraft and other related topics.
