MATT, “Mexicans & Americans Thinking Together”, was founded in 2006 as a

MATT, “Mexicans & Americans Thinking Together”, was founded in 2006 as a

bi-national, non-partisan, non-profit organization based in San Antonio, TX with a strong

presence in Washington D.C. and other cities.


MATT’s mission is to encourage Mexicans and Americans to come together to bridge the

gaps of understanding and quality of life so that we may truly prosper together.


MATT implements productive projects and facilitates effective communication among

Americans and Mexicans to help both countries work together for the well-being of the

region.


MATT Maestro en Casa

MATT, in collaboration with the Archdiocese of San Antonio, launched the immigrant

integration basic English program entitled “MATT Maestro en Casa”.

-This is a free English-learning program for adults so that they may better function in their daily activities.

-The lessons are broadcast via Catholic Radio three time per week and each lesson is

repeated the following day. The sessions take 16 weeks to complete.


Yo Soy Mexico

•An economic development and job-creation initiative in Mexico that brings the public

and private sectors together

•Analyzes existing resources, enhances programs, and tailors needs to maximize

benefits for those who need them

•Designed to provide job opportunities in Mexico and create resilient communities

throughout the nation


CHANCE- Collaborating Hispanic Americans, Networking and Contributing to the

Economy

-A MATT-founded initiative to assist aspiring entrepreneurs in obtaining small

business loans and provide technical support and educational resources.

-Fosters economic development in Mexico; migration becomes an option not a necessity

-MATT and ACCIÓN Texas established alliance to help businesses in the United States

obtain loans to launch micro and small businesses


Comprehensive Immigration Reform Advocacy

•Since 2007, MATT has been organizing and launching grassroots campaigns in target

states.

•Conducts Media Training programs to ensure community leaders have the tools to be effective

•Produced radio and television ad in English and Spanish that promotes CIR and urges leaders to “Finish the Job”

• Promotes CIR as a national issue

• Drafted two initiatives with recommended principles to be included as a part of CIR

o The MATT Help America Prosper Initiative (HAPI)

o The MATT Help American Prosper Immigrant Integration and Economic Reform Initiative (HAPIIER)
