Acorn (band) Acorn formed in Sydney, Australia in 1997. Original lineup was; Johnny Rejex, (vocals, acoustic guitar)Wal Le Burn(vocals acoustic & electric guitar) Nick Szentkuti (vocals,bass) William Bowden (drums) Acorn played around Sydney in the late 90's. They had a residency at the Hollywood Hotel.Acorn featured in a Radio 2SER series of Live-to -Air broadcasts called Big New Sounds in 1998 recorded at Megaphon Sound Recordings. Bowden left & was replaced by Martin Sinkovitch, who left after the recording. Cris Crook joined on drums. Acorn released a 12 track CD titled AnAcorn, which included some of the songs from the Live-to-Air concert with further songs they recorded at Megaphon Studios, including a cover of Niagra Baby by punk band The Rejex.[1] The song Dolly (Wal Le Burn)also features on the compilation album Big New Sounds released by Endgame Records in 1999, based on the radio series of live to air concerts. Acorn are described as "challenging the sonic limits of rock..presenting a raw side of sound..in and out of tune..[2] .[3]
