D-Tools, Inc. is a software company for the manufacturing, infrastructure, building, media and entertainment, and wireless data services fields. Autodesk was founded by Adam Stone in 1998. It is currently headquartered in Concord, California.

Products

The company’s flagship product, System Integrator™ (SI), is a total design solution that utilizes AutodeskAutoCAD and MicrosoftVisio for comprehensive system design, documentation and project management. D-Tools SI allows commercial integrators to streamline their business processes to increase overall revenues while reducing the time and costs associated with the installation and integration of low-voltage systems. Over 2,000 leading companies use D-Tools software to streamline the system integration process. D-Tools is the recipient of the Consumer Electronics Association’s Mark of Excellence Award (2004, 2005, 2006), National Systems Contractors Association and Sound and Video Contractor’s Innovations in Technology for Business Productivity Award (2004, 2005) and CE Pro’s High Impact Award for Design Software.

Other products include LinkTools, Business Manager and LANSync.

History

In August 1997, Adam Stone, a veteran of the system integration industry,begins work on a Microsoft Visio based design, engineering, estimating and documentation program called Ci.

DigiTools Ci is introduced at CEDIA in 1998 with the support of the Visio corporation and gains immediate industry acceptance.

In October 1998, D-Tools incorporates in the state of California. Ci ships version 1.0

In October 2000, D-Tools releases Si 2.1. A dramatic step forward in design software. New features makes life even easier for system integrators.

D-Tools releases Si v3 in October 2002. An evolutionary change in the award winning System Integrator software tool.

In September 2004, D-Tools releases System Integrator 4. The latest in the line of award winning design, proposal, engineering, and management software

In June 2006, D-Tools unveils new AutoCAD functionality in System Integrator 4.5 at InfoComm 2006.

In June 2007, D-Tools announces availability of SI5, the latest version of the company's flagship product.
