Interests

I am a scientist and engineer born and mostly raised in California (except for 4 years in Connecticut). I recently graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a degree in Engineering Physics and am currently exploring the world of professional engineering. My interests are very general and span from Philosophy to Computer Science to the hard Physical Sciences. I love Mathematical Physics but find it slightly unpractical. I am generally interested in Nanotechnology especially with applications to Biophysics. I am also very intrigued by the philosophical implications of physical theories as they relate to universal origins or the meanings of consciousness. Interpretation of quantum mechanics is an interesting article that relates to these ideas.

My love of mathematical physics also spills over into computer science, and I am a bit of an amateur programmer. I am familiar with C++, PHP and Unix. I am trying to learn Ruby and am fluent with HTML and CSS, though I do not consider that to be a real accomplishment.

I am nearly fluent in French and am intrigued by French Philosophy, especially French Existentialism and Absurdism.

What Does Your Name Mean?

My user name is a reference to an extremely powerful mathematical physics tool called the Lagrangian. It has applications in almost all realms of physics and is one of the most fundamental aspects of quantum field theories. If you are interested, please see the article linked above.
