Katie Julia was born in London and raised in Leicestershire, UK. She attended Oakham School as an Art Scholar, developing her early interest in the arts. She later studied at the Oxford School of Drama. Coming from a family with a photographic background—her grandfather was a photographer—she transitioned from painting to photography, describing it as a medium to “paint with light”.[5]
Katie Julia began her professional photography career in the 2010s, specialising in fine art wedding and event photography. Her work is characterised by the use of natural light and neutral tones, aiming to capture unposed moments.[6]
