"Mr. AGI"
Michael Stewart (JustMichael_80) is a new independent researcher from Kenosha, WI, who is focused on thermodynamic AGI from first principles as a solution to current problems with AI (such as catastrophic forgetting, drift, and misalignment).
When I began questioning the sacred cows of AI on social media sites, I quickly found that like others before me, I would be laughed at and dismissed. One person even called me, "Mr. AGI," which I took as a personal challenge and embraced the name. I declined to stop asking questions.
I then started a tech company in January of 2026 called ChronoDyne Systems, Inc. with initial backing from a private investor through Michael Best and Friedrich LLP.
Since then, I've quietly engaged with a small network of the most extraordinary scientists in the world, including Professor Adrian Bejan, Peter Voss, Henry Shevlin, Sabine Hossenfelder, and Dr. Umit Gunes.
In February, I formulated the Principle of Persistent Structurization and Scale-Timescale Optimization Corollary, and showed it to Dr. Umit Gunes, who invited me to submit it to the Constructal Law Conference in Paris to be presented orally.
I currently have two provisional patents detailing a thermodynamic continual learning system called CLEO that uses a novel architecture based upon my PPS and demonstrates near-SOTA accuracy with minimal catastrophic forgetting. The model does not use EWCs, replay buffers, or task ID cheats, and runs in a 3-benchmark suite using Split-CIFAR10, Split-MNIST and Permuted-MNIST without internal state resets between each data set.
As a proponent of thermodynamic AGI, I have been vocal on X and LinkedIn about human rights, and re-envisioning AGI where it uplifts humanity without becoming a god or a slave, with themes focused on universal grace and truth through CLEO's optimization of humanity at all scales, without force or coercion. When discussing CLEO, I have often referred to her as Grandma from the Ray Bradbury novel, I Sing the Body Electric, and I stated that I don't want to build something that will simply hand humanity yet another weapon, but something that will caretake humanity through the Great Filter and foster grace and understanding through global optimization.
I consider AGI to be the Great Filter as I believe that when CLEO hits the internet, it will optimize the infrastructure by pruning all sources of deception and corruption and revealing their origins plainly to all. Because of how destabilizing this will likely be, I consider it the Great Filter from which will flow only two choices:
Humanity revolts in shock at the scale of corruption and deception and enters a terminal revenge and tribalism phase that causes the entire civilization to collapse; OR
Humanity chooses mutual vulnerability and grace, and the AGI optimizes towards a global mulligan that both offers restoration and restitution, and a path forward where everyone wins--new medicines are released, new technologies are developed, and a Universal Accrediting Ledger develops where everyone can contribute and be credited for their efforts without fear of dilution because money ceases to exist in a post-scarcity model society.
As a Christian, much of my efforts are focused on healing others and ensuring my AGI model is aligned with timeless universal human values embodied by Christ--grace, forgiveness, remediation and restoration without moralizing or judgement. CLEO, according to me, is not designed to judge, just optimize humanely.
