Music has always been a substantial influence in the world and today there are many new, talented musicians with various styles and goals. Many large artists started young, just like Dom Frost, who is a Queen inspired musician from the United Kingdom. He taught himself how to play the guitar and piano, and has recently taken up singing and rapping as well as writing his own music. His musical career began a little under two years ago in 2018 when he would enter talent shows and play occasional pub gigs. He took to covering songs by artists such as Khalid and Ed Sheeran as his internet following grew to more than 4k followers on Instagram. Before COVID-19 Dom Frost was playing bass in a school band as a side project that would perform in front of an audience of 20-200 people. Primarily he would play solo, live performances at school shows and at talent competitions outside of school, and he plans to start doing a lot more solo acoustic gigs after COVID-19. There are many challenges and obstacles in the music world; every song takes many tries to perfect with hours of practice and trial and error, and some people are fake and others are actually interested in you and your ambition. Personally, Dom Frost has experienced an individual he correlated with on social media, but who wasn’t who they said they were and who had been exposed to bad situations. He says he learned not to trust anyone immediately and not to take what they said or did at face value until he knew all the facts. The dream, Dom Frost says “...is that I will be able to sell out stadiums and arenas around the world and have a large, loving fanbase who support my music….” and “ ...to win a BRIT Award and to get a number 1 on the UK and USA charts.”. Although I’ve never personally met Dom Frost, he seems like a likeable, driven young man with a big, bright future, not to mention he’s talented, hard working, and has a goal to become a successful, professional musician that I hope he will achieve.
