Claudia Joy Holden has been married to Brigadier General Michael Holden for 18 years. They live on Fort Marshall near Charleston with their two teenage daughters, Amanda and Emmalin. Michael is the post commander. Claudia Joy is a member of the FRG and is well-known around the base for helping the other wives and families.
In the first episode of Season 2, Amanda died.
In episode one, it is revealed that the number one on post is being promoted to Brigadier General. Michael was passed over for the promotion because of false rumors he is racist that were started by the new general's wife- Lenore Baker. Claudia Joy confronted Lenore Baker at the general's party, beginning a feud that lasted throughout the season. Lenore fought dirty by spreading rumors about Claudia Joy, including rumors that forced her to reveal a secret from her law school days. In , Gen. Baker suffered an aneurysm making Michael Holden the temporary post commander. During a visit from a 4-star general and his wife, Lenore Baker let her ambitions get ahead of her.
