The Centre of the Cell is a major educational resource based in: Blizard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science and is part of Queen Mary, University of London It houses an interactive multimedia facility called the pod
The pod overlooks the Blizard laboratory
It contains interactive screens, a hand magnifier with a quiz, and 2 videos
It was opened in by Anne, Princess Royal
how to get there:
Directions on foot from Whitechapel tube:
Turn right outside Whitechapel tube and continue to the crossroads where New Road meets Whitechapel Road.
Turn left across Whitechapel Road. Continue straight along New Road, then take the second turning on your left into Newark Street. You will see a large, modern, glass and steel building with a glass linking walkway approximately 25 metres along Newark Street on the right hand side. This is Blizard Building.Turn right into the central area below the linking walkway. This is the location of the centre of the cell
