For the moment just a quick & dirty page to get something started. I haven't created any articles (yet) but, I've edited a number of them. Most were done w/o logging in so my IP is the only clue and most edits are pretty minor in nature. Fixing links, straightening up some syntax or grammar, etc. However, I have added substance in a few places. I enjoy working on these pages and it's nice to be useful. I'll add to this profile, hopefully sooner rather than later.

Chemist by training, computer systems engineer (sales) by trade (thank you IBM). I started working on mainframe and mini-computers before PC's were more than ideas floating around in a few visionaries heads and the smallest disk drives used 14 inch platters with an astonishing 250 MB capacity. Along the way I did a lot of technical writing, authoring user guides and manuals. I also wrote many pieces for marketing purposes to explain very technical things to very non-technical people. Try getting a CFO to understand disk and tape data transfer principles - it's fun. At heart though, I'm a scientist and have kept informed and educated (auto-didactically) about a number of fields.
