• linkrec.toolforge.org finds incoming links to versions of an article in other languages that could, but do not, exist in a given one.

pwiki

github.com/fastily/pwiki is a Python library for interacting with the MediaWiki API. The creator archived it in February 2026 but it still works as of June 2026. Be careful as there aren't any guardrails.

The referencing template

Template:R is a neat and readable way of invoking references. It can take multiple arguments. For example: {{r|ref1|ref2}} is equivalent to <ref name="ref1" /><ref name="ref2" />.
