Wikipedian cipherbug has recently completed their Ph.D. doing weird interdisciplinary entomology/history things. Their current goal is to correct and expand existing pages on, in particular, Lepidopterists (collectors and experts in butterfly and moth diversity) associated with the Department of Entomology at the British Museum (Natural History) in the twentieth century. They also edit and revise pages within their range of knowledge on biology and/or English grammar and spelling.

Their larger academic interests include Lepidoptera taxonomy, statistical methods in biogeography and the humanities, history of insect collecting and museum building, using museum collections in scientific and historical research, and 20th century European history. Cipherbug also does a lot of statistical programming in R. They originally joined Wikipedia as part of a class they took as an undergraduate but stuck around.
