Biography of Nigerian born writer, Charles Ofoji
Charles Ofoji, born on 6 April 1967 in Lagos, Nigeria lives in Cologne, Germany as a lawyer and journalist. He studied law at the famous University of Lagos and attended the Nigeria Law School in 1990 before becoming a Journalist. He also studied German law at the University of Mannheim and holds a master degree in European and International law. Ofoji, a former Sports Editor of the Nigerian Statesman, is the author of the ground-breaking novel, ILLEGAL IN BERLIN and A FAILURE’S DAUGHTER. He is currently the Managing Editor of The African Courier, an international magazine published in Germany.
Ofoji is one of Nigeria’s bright young men who left for greener pastures abroad when the house called Nigeria fell under the watch of former military dictator, Ibrahim Babangida. He holds the military and corrupt leadership responsible for his sad fate of having to live his motherland he loves so much. In diaspora, he is a vocal voice against the evil men that hijacked Nigeria, to the detriment of the common man, especially Nigeria’s children.
