Hi, I'm a third year medical student at the George Washington University in Washington, DC. Eventually, I hope to become a pediatrician, possibly specializing pediatric emergency medicine. I'm married and live in the Mt. Vernon Square/Shaw area of Washington.
I graduated from:
Pomona College (2001-2005) (Part of the Claremont Colleges)
Reno High School (1997-2001)
Swope Middle School (1995-1997)
Roy Gomm Elementary School (1988-1995)
Merry Berry Preschool (1985-1988)
My college degree was a Bachelor of Arts cum laude, with a major in Religious Studies and a minor in Political Science. I was also a pre-medical student. I served as president of Mortar Board, a collegiate honor society.
In high school, I was very active with debate and individual events, and made three trips to the National Forensics League national tournaments in Phoenix, AZ, Portland, OR, and Norman, OK. I was on the varsity swim team, though I wasn't very good. I was the captain for Reno High's Science Bowl team which won the state tournament and competed at the national tournament in Chevy Chase, MD. I participated in the United States Senate Youth Program. I also participated with Academic Olympics.
Washington, DC (2005-current)
Claremont, CA (2001-2005, school year)
Crescent City, CA (2003, summer)
Reno, NV (1983-2005, except as above)
Philadelphia, PA (1982-1983)
During my summers, I've worked as a park ranger at Redwood National Park and as a wildlife biologist on the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, studying the goshawk. I've also worked as a sports announcer for the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehen basketball team, as an MCAT teacher for Kaplan, Inc., and as a referee for GW's flag football and basketball intramurals.
I enjoy photography, national parks, and reading all sorts of things. I am currently swimming with a masters swim team at Trinity University. I also enjoy word puzzles, including Boggle, Scrabble, and crosswords and other logic puzzles like Sudoku. I try to play the piano, I enjoy cooking, and I'm an NPR afficionado. I also have two pet rabbits named Flopsy and Mopsy.
