Well, I have finally found a user name that wasn't too similar to a previous user, and I apologize to anyone else that tries to register after me and has the same problem with my name! I was unable to find a single contribution by any one of the names that preceeded mine, and I could find no way to appeal their registration.
I think that the "too similar" restrictions are too stringent.

Other than that, I like long walks on moonlight beaches, and peace on earth.
