Well, I started editing on Wikipedia in March of 2006, and never saw the need to start my own User Page. For whatever reason, I've decided to now!
I grew up in Northern NJ, and now reside in the Trenton, NJ area. I was born in 1961.
I probably average about one edit per day, although it tends to go in fits and starts.
While I'd like to think that I'm a generalist, if you look at my edits, I tend to do most of them in the Pop Culture realm, particularly:
♦ Sports - probably more tennis and professional wrestling(!) edits than the average person.
♦ Movies - although I've been disappointed with the quality the last few years.
♦ Television - dramas, news shows, etc.
♦ Music
I don't like to get into "edit wars" with people. Yes, I probably get as upset as the next person, but life is too short to engage with people like this. Although now that I've set up my own page, maybe I'll use it to vent when that happens to me!
For whatever reason, more and more of my edits have to do with towns/cities in New Jersey. I live in New Jersey, so I'm sure that has something to do with it. I live near Trenton, so that is the entry with my most work, but I also have made more than the average amount of edits for towns/cities like Newark and Camden.
It seems the majority of my edits are now focusing on TV show episodes.
Through the years, I also have had a pet peeve about non-notable people who want to vanity list themselves as someone who is a famous alumni of a school. Beware if you don't have your own Wikipedia listing and can't provide a source that makes you someone who is notable!
Pet Peeve #2 - I just "love" it when I see an entry something like, "Person #1 is married to Person #2" or, "Person #1 is a cousin to Person #2," whereby Person #2 links to their own article, but there is no further information on why Person #2 is notable. In many cases, I'm sure it is quite obvious that the person who included this text knows exactly who that person is. But here's a thought...many of us have no idea who this is! So maybe a little something describing why that person is notable? It doesn't have to be elaborate. Simple is fine. How about just something like, "Person #1 is married to actor Person #2"? Or, "Person #1 is a cousin to singer Person #2"? Thanks!
