Art Sims Was born April 4.1954 is an African American CEO of 1124 Design,inc.. Art Sims has designed movie posters for for film and television, with over 35 films to his credit, During his 24 year film career, Art Sims Graduated from Michigan State University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors. Art began his career in 1974 working for CBS Records as a graphic designer working for John Berg and Edwin Lee. Art Sims was hired in 1976 to work for Art Director Roy Kohara at EMI Record as a graphic designer. Art Sims was hired by CBS TV as a graphic designer. Art Sims started 1124 design,inc. in 1980. I met Spike Lee to work on School Daze key art in 1988 and with whom she worked on a number of films thereafter, including Do the Right Thing (1989), Mo' Better Blues (1990), Jungle Fever (1991), and Malcolm X (1992). Sims has continued to work on films for Spike Lee, including Michael Jackson BAD25 (2013). Art Sims is also know for worked for George Lucas's last film Red Tails key art, Menace II Society The Hughes Brothers, Abel Ferrera's King Of New York, Jon Kilik's Skins and Steven Spielberg's The Color Purple.
