This is a collection of pages pertaining to the Wikipedia project that I find to be useful not only for my own editing, but the editing of all users, new and old alike.
Citing sources and reliable sources
Excessive detail A general rule of thumb for me is that if a reader without any prior knowledge of the subject would be confused by the mention of something, it's a good idea to leave it out. For example, not everyone knows the name or location of streets in a community, so mentioning that all of these events happened at such-and-such avenue is excessive.
