Hello. I am an author and maritime historian from the United Kingdom. I mostly find myself gravitating towards creating content of a historiographical nature, usually towards the maritime history of the Great Lakes, a region which has captivated me for over a decade.
I joined Wikipedia under the name GreatLakesShips on 26 November 2017, when I was 13-years-old, initially to correct a single error on an article I had recently viewed a documentary about. Upon diving further into the contents of Wikipedia, I learned about the dearth of content covering my field of interest, and decided to rectify it.
An impressive body of work, well done. Fishplates (talk) 18:04, 26 January 2021 (UTC)

By the authority vested in me by myself it gives me great pleasure to present you with this special, very exclusive award created just for we few, we happy few, this band of brothers, who have shed sweat, tears and probably blood, in order to be able to proudly claim "I too have taken an article to Featured status". Editor of the Week
Your ongoing efforts to improve the encyclopedia have not gone unnoticed: You have been selected as Editor of the Week in recognition of your great contributions! (courtesy of the Wikipedia Editor Retention Project)
I nominate Akaza to be Editor of the Week. Akaza is, without a doubt, one of our community's foremost experts in the maritime history of the Great Lakes. As of writing, he has two featured articles, 35 DYK hooks, and 27 Good Articles, all in his area of expertise. His brilliant prose (my favorite is SS D. M. Clemson (1903)) makes articles he writes easily identifiable while being both engaging and informative. Beyond his writing, Akaza's sincerity, politeness, and good conduct help build WP:SHIPS and the English Wikipedia into the collaborative project we all aspire to be apart of. Always an enjoyable editor to work with. This nomination seconded by Vanderwaalforces.
