There are important rules when it comes to conflict of interest editing (COI). Wikipedia strongly discourages COI editing as it could backfire (The North Face, Burger King, Operation Orangemoody) and damage the encyclopedia. All content must be written from a neutral point of view. COI editing is simply not a good idea and you generally should not engage in it.

Editors with a COI are strongly encouraged to disclose the COI, and you must if you are being paid per the Terms of Use, in which case, there is a separate (but similar) process for disclosing paid editing.

COI editors are strongly discouraged to edit affected articles directly and to write autobiographies. Instead, use edit requests to propose changes to an existing article and Articles for creation for creating a new article (see Help:Your first article first if you're writing an article).

Unless your edits and articles are well-written, following Wikipedia's policies and guidelines, COI editing can cause many problems, and there are even legal consequences for hidden advertising mimicking a content format such as a Wikipedia article. Once again, COI editing isn't a good idea. If your company tells you to write or edit a Wikipedia article about them, tell them it can't be done.
