You are not obligated to follow these, but to keep the template from functioning properly, you want to read this:

  • If you will add you student organization/fraternity/sorority in the "Student life" section, enclose it with "[[" and "]]", then followed by a space then finally by •.
  • Do not link to an external website.
  • If you will create a University of Santo Tomas-related article, add {{UST}} at the end of the article. If will automatically add this template and Category:University of Santo Tomas.

I removed most of the colors from the links per WP:COLOR, which says, "Links should clearly be identifiable as a link to our readers." If you have a mixture of links in black (rather than the default blue) and non-links also in black, it's going to look like there are no links there at all. It's much more important that people who see this template be able to see what is a link and what is not than to use a particular color scheme. --Metropolitan90 (talk) 15:06, 25 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]__DTELLIPSISBUTTON__{"threadItem":{"timestamp":"2012-08-25T15:06:00.000Z","author":"Metropolitan90","type":"comment","level":1,"id":"c-Metropolitan90-2012-08-25T15:06:00.000Z-Colors","replies":[]}}-->
