Just the thing about the regions.. It is not only meteorologists that use them.. They are not administrative regions because Turkey is a centralized country, however these regions are referred to in the state's budget, state's discourse etc. They are commonly used by the government, even if they do not hold an administrative value. + They are used by geographers as well, therefore it makes sense to use them. They shouldn't be removed. Guys - less is more. You have created a template full of sublists and links that is impossible to edit and thus impossible to update and maintain.

All we need to see at the bototm of a province page is

  • a list of the districts in the province
  • a list of the provinces of Turkey
  • a list of the regions (which I don't actually care about but apparently some people think is important)

And all of these need maps.

Your current template has the following problems

1 - the title line should not include the word districts. It should just say the name of the province.

The title only includes "text:districts" if the page is under a province (a province page). At this stage it lists the districts of the province. The text "text:districts" does not show up on other pages. The current form is very effective from USABILITY perspective, as it helps the users easily acquire in relationships (Region first, alphabetical sorting of the provinces second). Also remember it was your position not to link regions to administrative functions. If you put them in a hierarchy view, the first thing people think that regions are on TOP of provinces, provinces are on TOP of districts. What you are proposing is asking to perform an organization that will convey a hierarchy that does not exist (U were against this topic). If you don't list the provinces next to the region then there will be no hierarchy. People can see from the title bar at the top of the template that Çorum (for example) is in the Black Sea region and they can jump there from the title bar. Or they can see a small list of regions below which they can investigate. They don't need to see a list of which provinces are in the south-east, for example, when they are reading the page about Amasya. You need three maps and they should all be much larger than ın your current template.

The major focus of the template is the textual info. If you increase the size of the images the texts become "washed out" from the template. BESIDES it is a wikipedia function to "CLICK" on an image to get it bigger. This function is known widely and used widely. Yo do not have to make the pictures bigger as it does not make the information better. The information is in the text, that is what we are working with, as you know. PS: The template is designed for the 800px wide, as there are millions who does not have wide screens, and this template is repeated in many many pages. Your template is MUCH more than a list of districts. It includes information about the whole country. Therefore you need:

  • a general title - the name of the province.
  • Or you need a template which just contains the list of districts plus a map.
  • Or maybe as a compromise you could feature the districts as you have done already and then put the national and regional information in a smaller section below, In fact if you removed the display of all the provinces in each region that would make the template look more focussed on the districts. I still don't understand why I need to see a list of which provinces are in the Aegean when I'm reading about a small town in Amasya.

Also please don't hide this template. At the moment there is no other listing of the districts of Çorum for example, (because you keep deleting the clean and simple list that was there before) so we must see your template. This is looking better. One problem - next to the list of districts you have the regions map and next to the regions the map of the province. Can you switch these around? And Ottoman Reference don't talk to me about respect. If you do a good job you will get appreciation. I am not the only one to have criticised this template. And you are still working on it so you can't expect people to start applauding yet. There is a weird problem with Kastamonu, not all districts are listed under new template. Check Kastamonu (new template) and Abana, Turkey which uses the old template. For Kayseri, can you replace Pinarbasi with Pınarbaşı, Kayseri? It is the name of two towns apparently, one in Kayseri and one in Kastamonu.
