Usage

The {{WikiProject Iran}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project. While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

Importance	Criteria	Example
Top	The article is one of the core topics about Iran. Generally, this is limited to those articles that are included as sections of the main Iran article. A reader who is not involved in the Iran field will have high familiarity with the subject matter and should be able to relate to the topic easily. Mid	The article covers a topic that has a strong but not vital role in the history of Iran. Due to the topics covered at this level, Mid-importance articles will generally have more technical terms used in the article text. Portals

A portal may be specified, via the parameter portal1-name.

portal1-name – if the article has been selected for use on a portal, the name of that portal. The name should be given without any formatting or namespace prefixes.
portal1-link – the portal subpage location where the article may be found on the corresponding portal. This should be given as a pure unlinked subpage name.
For example, Abbas Kiarostami was featured on the Iran portal during March 2007. Therefore, the parameters would be "|portal1-name=Iran|portal1-link=Selected article/2007/March".
